A released result supports departure from the reporting agency. It does not by itself explain the case outcome, end all supervision, or rule out another hold. Search the Arenac court for bond, dismissal, sentence, or probation authority, then ask the Sheriff whether the event was release or transfer if the wording remains unclear.

MI-VINE 72-Hour Call Rule
Telephone alerts may repeat for up to 72 hours when a call is not answered or the event is not acknowledged with the four-digit PIN and pound key. This delivery period is easy to misread. Michigan has two related state-prison notice layers. General MDOC release notification through VINE is one. Separate registration through MDOC Crime Victim Services can provide additional statutory notice to eligible registered victims, including certain parole hearing and decision events.
One registration should not be assumed to enroll a person in the other. General custody alerts focus on agency-reported changes. The statutory MDOC program has its own eligibility and registration duties. Contact changes must be supplied as that program instructs so later notice is not lost. This distinction is most important when an Arenac County case later becomes an MDOC prison case. The court trail and custody trail answer different questions. A bond entry shows legal authority. A VINE event shows a reporting-agency status change. A release log can give the actual out time and destination if recorded. Use both layers when accuracy matters.
Arenac County VINE Check Limits
MI-VINE does not cover federal BOP custody. Use the BOP Inmate Locator for a federal record and the federal docket for release orders or supervised-release information. A past date with “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” confirms departure from BOP only. Another jurisdiction may still hold the person.
VINE also cannot make a missing result prove release. The name may be wrong, the facility may not participate, data may lag, or the person may have moved to a source outside the selected search. The Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry is a separate, specialized source only for people legally required to register.
